Pops of Yellow

I have vases scattered about my kitchen and on my dining table holding beautiful pops of yellow, wattle and acacia that are blooming throughout the Mallee, God (whom I can only conclude is responsible) colouring the landscape deftly as an artist does.

While walking past the dining table late this afternoon the blue of the vase was illuminated and I had to take out the camera to play with that light and the wonderful bright colours coming out of the fruit bowl next to it. After the last few weeks of scouring Instagram and Facebook to see how other artists use these tools, I have come across some of the most fabulous images, pages and artists.  One in particular reminding me to take time and enjoy the beauty of that you surround yourself with in the day to day, and to remember it.

All thoughts of dinner prep out the window, I took the time to just enjoy that last little bit of light and marvel at the colours and at just how lovely it all is.  I am quite sure I could hear my mother’s inner voice silently pleading to put the damn camera down and cook some food.

These pictures are a small reminder for me to pop away in a diary to reminisce over later, of a Wednesday afternoon, in my little house, on that quiet street, with my little family,  when the light came in and was just right.
